"At the end of 2021, I wanted to commit to making my health a priority and improving my fitness. As someone who has avoided gyms most of my life, I was not comfortable going to a big box gym or a group fitness studio. I knew I would be better off working one-on-one with a personal trainer in a less intimidating environment. Enter Method Fitness and my trainer, Alex.

Alex customizes workouts to my fitness level and always has modifications on deck if I’m not quite there yet. I train with him several times a week and appreciate that he intentionally builds variety into my program so I’m not doing the same exercises on repeat.

One of the best things about working with Alex is his focus on making sure I understand and am comfortable with each component of my workout. As a newbie, this is definitely appreciated.

The space itself is nice and conveniently located in Arlington. There are usually a couple other trainers conducting sessions when I’m there. Everyone is friendly and contributes to the inclusive, low-pressure vibe.

"I've been working with Aryan for close to a year now, and not only has he been helping me meet my fitness goals, but he's also been helping me deal with a chronic upper shoulder pain I've had for years. Aryan's philosophy is more about holistic well-being and strength conditioning/building. More than just focusing on aesthetics, he is helping me build a life-long fitness program that is not only measurable, but also sustainable.

 

In addition to making sure that we are working the muscle groups I need to strengthen to ameliorate my chronic shoulder pain, he also ensures that my cardiac and postural health remain sound. While my chronic shoulder pain has significantly decreased since I started working with Aryan, I also feel much stronger and I am more confident of myself both in terms of appearance and overall physical health. His sessions are designed to push yourself to the limit without over-stressing your body. He is very meticulous about making sure that you are not inflicting pain or carrying out injury-attracting actions during exercises. He will ask you several times whether the correct muscles are being activated, if not, he will pause and guide you through the exercise again.

 

On top of all this, he provides you with dietary advice, and he does this with care, making sure not to upset your financial thresholds and respecting your choice in food. All in all, Aryan understands that most of us are not professional athletes, and he designs his programs with that expectation and reality. I would highly recommend Aryan to anyone looking for a general fitness guide or to anyone looking to put on mass and/or become stronger."

"I enthusiastically recommend Method Fitness, and specifically my trainer Thoemass. I had been in physical therapy for hip arthritis and back issues for six months. After my PT ended, I wanted to continue to progress, and my therapist recommended Method Fitness. I am thrilled to have found this unique training center, and my trainer Thoemass. His personalized approach is geared to an understanding of your body physiology and your specific condition/s, and then developing a program to improve them, at your pace. Unlike personal training I’ve done at gyms in the past, Thoemass’ approach is truly “personal” training, tailored to my goal of maintaining an active lifestyle as a “senior”. Method Fitness is only a one on one training facility, so it has a serious vibe in that everyone is there for a specific reason, and is committed, but the atmosphere is at the same time friendly and light-hearted. "For over a decade and a half, I've struggled to find a trainer who took time to understand body issues that were specific to my body type and train me based on my body's needs. I've had over 10 trainers, all of whom I've had to stop training with because they just couldn't get the job done (and ended up injuring me). I'm not usually somebody to leave reviews but I truly feel like people out there should meet Aryan to understand and experience the difference between a trainer and a "personal" trainer. Apart from being very focused on me and my every movement during the one hour I train with him and constantly correcting my positions, he is also very accommodating to my travel and work schedule, which is something I truly appreciate. Also, while he definitely pushes you, he isn't somebody who would push you to an extent that would lead you to potentially injure yourself. Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to give him a solid few weeks at a stretch to get my body to the level I'd like it to be due to my travel schedule, but if you have time and the commitment, I highly highly recommend Aryan."
