Winner of Arlington’s Best Gym 2026 - Method Fitness

We are proud to announce that we have been awarded “Best of Arlington” for the 3rd year in a row! With your help, we have been designated as the Best Gym in Arlington. In no uncertain terms, we could not do this without our beloved clients. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your patronage and support, your love around the holidays, and for your dedication to fitness. We are pleased to continue doing our best to get you to your goals and educate about health, wellness, and fitness all-the-while.

Today’s article is going to be centered around what we do on the gym floor, and on the backend of our business, to ensure that our clients get the Best of Arlington. We take our customer service and job knowledge seriously, so let’s start with what you experience on the floor.

Training Trainers

Our trainers are career fitness professionals; no one here is a part-timer. We have dedicated ourselves to the art and science of coaching and have all chosen this field because we genuinely care about the process of coaching. We know that we are capable of improving your health and quality of life in and out of the gym, so how are we actually doing that?

We each have varied life experience that we bring to our training, but each trainer anchors their programs into the basics. Many of our coaches come from sport strength & conditioning backgrounds. We take the high level concepts we used to train athletes and apply them to your training too. We track your sets, repetitions, and weight completed for each lift so that we can continuously challenge the body and make steady progress in a process called periodization. We watch how you move in every moment, how you respond to our exercise prescription, and modify based on what we know to be good biomechanical principles. For long term clients, you are likely familiar with modifying a workout due to external stressors such as a minor ache or pain, pre-existing injuries, or exhaustion. We consider all information relevant and integrate it into our training flow wherever necessary.

For current clients, you’ve probably performed a squat! We find that squatting, hinging, pushing, pressing, carrying, and other gross motor-patterns to be foundational skills. We continuously overload these movement patterns for strength training, bone and tendon health, spinal & core stability, and a number of other psychological and physiological benefits. I can’t say that we’ve reinvented the wheel here - a lot of good training does this. But where we excel from our competitors is in our dedicated periodization principles. Using your set, repetition, and weight numbers we can estimate progression using standard recovery timelines. We adjust progression for external stressors to ensure we are not overloading you when you are least likely to make gains. We then push the needles in meaningful ways every day; marginal gains resulting in massive compound gains over time.

How can we make sure all trainers are on the same page?

All trainers receive weekly and monthly continued education in the form of team meetings, seminars, one-on-one meetings, and “development” assignments geared at expanding their job knowledge and critical thinking skills when it comes to modifications and considerations of our clientele. We anchor ourselves into a singular philosophy:

We want you to get stronger. We know that strength is the adaptation that makes everything in your life easier, extends life-expectancy and quality of life, and is fun to chase. We do this while simultaneously building your stamina and endurance (work capacity), balance and mobility, and we will do it into infinity! If we can do that while simultaneously attacking your personal goals for training, then we are over the moon.

Another reason we continuously seek to educate is that we encounter problems of all shapes and sizes. Not every back pain or knee pain is the same; sometimes the same symptoms have different causes, and it is our job to expand how many puzzle pieces we have to work with. This goes for everything we encounter on the floor. While we may not always have the answers, we will always go find them!

The Approach IS the Impact

We think that everyone is responsible for the gym floor. Everyone in the building contributes to keeping our facility clean, organized, and welcoming. We clean daily, constantly scan for unsafe or broken equipment, and generally scan for little things like it was our own home. We check in with each other consistently to spread knowledge as a culture, not just as an obligation. We learn other clients' names. We get to know everyone we can, because it is important to us. We believe that excellence is in everything we do, and we hope you feel it every day.

Thank you for being amazing clients, and for those of you who may be reading this before coming in for your first session, then know that you will be cared for personally and professionally.

Sincerely,

Your Trainers at Method Fitness

I've been a client at Method Fitness for more than 18 months - and what you wrote above is 110% accurate! My trainer (Connor Gannon) has a challenge with me. I won't enumerate all the medical "stuff" I deal with, but Connor can turn on a dime in figuring out what program to do with me each session (depending on "what" hurts that day). He always makes me feel 100% [even if I'm not] ... but his leadership and programs MAKE me feel 100%. Method Fitness has changed my life for the better. How old am I? Well, I'll just say I'm retired...from an office job. Surely am not "retired" from trying to improve my health. Thank you, Met…
